Why our LED strip is the best!

Strip, Tape, ribbon…we all refer to this product as something different, the most simple to sell  and the most simple to not understand.

Possibly the easiest LED product for any factory to manufacture is LED strip. You probably ALL have seen it, ALL have worked with it but have you all been informed about it....the differences that is.

We have seen YouTube videos reach very large hit volumes over a product that is also very easy to produce. See generally it is only a PCB with Diodes...and other components in a line running at SELV voltage what can possibly go wrong with that. Sounds ultra safe.

First the PCB…some use single layer low quality copper content for single line strip. We use double core PCB with 26Mgs of copper content it costs much more but it is all part of the quality.

Then the Diodes many claims of certain diode usage are often folly. Quotes are often sent to clients  saying “Its Epistar” but often it is an alternative. We however ensure the highest lumen output Epistar/Sanan colour consistent diodes on our LED tape.

Size of the diode encapsulated is important and the phosphor applied to said diode. Many will use a low mil diode not a 9x27mil diode and the phosphor being important as if cheap brand phosphor it will effect the diode. The Diode has bonding and we use gold wire bonding as Gold can withstand higher temperature fluctuations. Many cheap producers will use Aluminum wire bonding another way to make the product cheaper.

Strip Quality: So we use correct diodes, thicker PCB’s and better quality component.

How about the IP rated versions? Well many who had installed cheap LED strip have seen it turning brittle in sunlight or going “hard” in sections…this is purely down to low quality epoxy being used.

See many use a mix of Silicon and Epoxy or just epoxy all ways to make a product worse. The best for IP ratings is pure Silicon and that said the Silicon brand is important also as they are not all the same.

Thetalight use the best Silicon to prevent this.

Also if the glue mixed with the Phosphor to cover the diodes is not of a good quality it will react with the Silicon used for coating.

Obviously then it comes down to color binning of the diodes and final testing to ensure consistency once Phosphor is applied but your project will only look as good as your product dictates.

We manufacture this item  and also personalize the PCB with our name. It costs more to have the correct detail but it is why our clients get satisfaction.

In fact many people trust what we say when it comes to quality because we detail all the points outlined before and aim for the best quality.

Towards the DC voltage current best for LED strip. Personally we believe that 24VDC is better for LED strip as it will have a lower heat value due to less resistance being created.

It is why we get awesome looking projects like the one in the Picture and sell a lot of LED strip. Many of those projects we never ever get to see due to supporting supply chain but due to our details we just hear that they went well and looked great.

Our last mention is now so many aluminium profiles are available for LED strip to use on projects that allow you to diffuse the light. You can see all the whole range of profiles on our website. These are great to use on projects and will aid the strip with better heat dissipation and also for coving will stop the "spotting". We always suggest using quality consistent colour binned diodes as it is noticeable if not.

We are  Happy to supply more information if required.
